Try an IBM "Think-Pad"; I have had two and the reason I got the second was only because the old one had two small a hard drive (1GB) not because there was any deficiency. The one I have now is a "type 2379" with a 60GB hard drive and wireless Internet capability among many other features. It has a battery that will last several hours if you are frugal with the display. It is small, light and won't malfunction if you should happen to drop it. It is about two years old so there are probably newer models even more advanced. It is, I think, in your price range there.

i agree that toshiba is a little pricey. Acer is a good choice. I suggest you get Dell Inspiron 6400. It comes with a widescreen and a low price. Try checking it out. I'm a university student too and i'm using Dell inspiron 6000 (which is the earlier model of 6400). I give it 3.5 out of 5. Visit www.dell.com to find out more.

Try the ACER, it's good price against capabilities, very affordable it has all the gadgets, bells and whistles for 2/3 the price of a competitive.

The select the TOSHIBA, its more rigid and heavy duty worker, but with higher price tag.

Regards,
:)

I say a Macbook. Go on the Apple website. They have discounts for college and university students. Macbooks are reasonably priced. I have a MacBook Pro and love it. Go with Macs, they are the best computers ever!
