Iraq, as a country, had no choice on the situation that it was in and it has very little choice on the situation that it is in NOW !!

America, however, had a choice then and has choices NOW in the situation we're in there !!
We made a major mistake in allowing the chief of all airheads
lie his way into our support for a trumped up set of reasons to do what he had wanted to do since his daddy left the job undone before him BUT with NO clue how to proceed once his arch enemy Sadaam had been removed -- we are paying the daily cost of THAT bit of idiocy NOW -- and sadly, so is the Iraqi people !!!
Bush wouldn't know "the right thing" if it crawled up his______
hmmm nose --- and brought a set of documents explaining itself !!!!!!!!

Neither side was right. I am assuming your question refers to events before the first Abrams tanks headed towards Bagdad. Saddam thought he could bluff his had on WMD. He miscalculated the entire situation. The Iraqi Army made no effort to prepare for war, they did not destroy any bridges, blow up any of the dams along the Tigris and Euphrates, and not one unit moved in to any kind of defensive posture.

America under the advise from the incompatent Secratary of Defense since Mcnmara laughed at General Shinseki on how many troops would be needed. This led to not enough troops to secure Iraq after the march to Bagdad, and it was the blunder that makes Rumsfield the hero of the insurgency. That coupled with that idiot Bremer who decided to disband the Iraqi Army rather than put them to work for us further made a mess for the US in Iraq.
Sadly Bush is doing right by keeping America in Iraq. Iraq today is the perfect example of two wrongs do not make a right. As massive of a strategic mistake it was to go in it would be a sheer strategic disaster to leave right now.

This question is inappropriate in a million ways. The question of right and wrong is hardly ever a question of one country versus another. Nobody can reasonably say that Saddam Hussein was a good ruler. Nobody can deny that deposing him is a good thing. But who can say that years of civil war is better for the Iraqi people. It was never a question of whether america or iraq were right. There is no clear postition of either one. They are both big countries. But educated people in both countries would like to be able to establish stable and intellectually based economies.

Saddam Hussein was definitely worthy of being taken down.

The Iraqi people have had a shot at a better life and as of yet haven't done much but take more shots.

Bush is trying to do right. I don't know if he's getting the help he needs other than from the troops, who are doing their level best.

I think they are both wrong. Iraq for trying to take over the other countries over there, and Bush for sticking America's nose in where it doesn't belong and getting our men & women killed.

Both countrie's " so called, leaders" are on a power trip.

if countries want to go to war, the Leaders should be the ones to battle it out, one on one, not send ou people in to mop up their dirty work and get killed for their mess.

I wonder how these Leaders sleep at night, knowing how many inocent men, women & children are killed because of the decisions they have made.

I don’t think of u . s . did incorrect by skill of going to Iraq… i understand they did! Australia did incorrect by skill of going there with them. Righting that incorrect is going to be one hell of a job, and it’s going to take something of the international community to repair it! the 1st step mandatory is for the coalition forces to get the hell out of Iraq, earlier issues get a rattling area worse! at the same time as the wear and tear isn’t yet irreparable, the longer the coalition forces proceed to be in Iraq, the greater probable this is for the area to instruct into an utter disaster! We promised we've been going to help the Iraqi human beings. With their u . s . now close to a civil conflict, possibly the final element we are able to do to help them now could be to circulate away, and need that something of the international community can step in and freshen up the mess we helped to create!

well saddam made a big mistake in not dealing with the right oil companies and by not allowing the saudis to control his oil policies. this led to his deposing and death. the usa elected a pres the only represented saudis, oil companies, and ddefense contractors, so their partly responsible for the way the pres conducts business on behhalf of his oil clients.

considering bush's approval rate is below 30% i would have to say he's not exactly winning this chess match.

Both acted using the believe that the ends justifies the means. Equal actions creates equal reaction so it's our turn now to get rid of the dictator.
