Well said.
After 42 years of dislike, hatred and at the end, vile ill treatment of my late partner I have had a fair sample of the poisoned mind. I became that way myself and with help managed to find my way to forgiveness, especially of myself.
The Trolls and haters provoke a mild chuckle or perhaps a raspberry.
My book is almost at an end and I hope whoever writes the closing lines will say. "She was a good woman who loved and was loved in return."

My true friends love me. There's not even the matter of acceptance vs. tolerance. They just love ME. My sexuality isn't even a factor. My buddies accept me. They're comfortable with me and will defend me and will call out idiotic, bigoted remarks from others. They've definitely moved beyond mere tolerance. Strangers don't much concern me, other than those that can impact my life in a negative way by their hatred. I don't think we'll be on equal ground any time soon in this country, there is too much hatred and not enough understanding. Until we get to a good point, acceptance is the best we can hope for. Tolerance is minimal.

I hope that nobody here on YA ever feels like the "straight" trolls who come into this section to start BS and quote Scripture are representing all straight people, any more than we'd want someone like Jeffrey Dahmer to be seen as representing gay people.
It's best to remember that these cowardly trolls have no lives, and this is how they get their "jollies." There are plenty of open-minded, well-informed straight people who believe in the "Golden Rule", and some who go even further, believing in our right to enjoy equality and happiness as much as their own.

I'm straight and I totally agree. Why straight people feel the need to tell any GLBT person how to dress, act, and behave is absolutely ridiculous. I hope I haven't offended; I believe in everyone having the right to be him/herself. Peace.

oh, I totally agree! but, like as mentioned before...close-minded, uneducated haters won't listen. same can be said for the ones who attack people because of their race, religion or culture. they think they are better than those that are different from them. if only they could see that because of their very arrogance...passing judgment and preaching hatred and intolerance.....they are, in fact, the lowest forms of scum on this earth. harsh? not hardly compared to the way they attack us all the time. we know that THEY are the sinners....not us!

I feel like it all the time. For someone to tell me that they know more about me than I know about myself is offensive.
A supposedly straight person who knows so much about me and my life must not have much of a life of their own.
