.....I've ran into this frustrating problem, myself, and based upon my inquires of other people, and well as keeping in mind of what Amazon is offering, I've come up with a pretty good reason for the rediculously high price on this stuff.

With VHS tape experiencing it's final death throes, as a result of DVD becoming the mainstay, the private sellers of extremely rare films on VHS, especially those being sought by cult audiences, and as yet unreleased on DVD, know that if a person wants a specific film bad enough, and a DVD release date is unseen, he/she WILL definately buy it, no matter what sticker price the seller slaps on the videotape; be rest assured that the seller IS quite well aware of how rare a specific title is, in this case, the riotously wacky comedy, "Jekyll & Hyde: Together Again", starring Mark Blankenship.

If I understand Amazon correctly, much like EBay, and their association with their sellers, they only get a small percentage of the item sales, but the seller gets the bulk of the price of what they are selling.

As far as why "J & K" has not seen release on DVD, there might be several reasons: There might be legal difficulties with transfering the film to another medium, such as DVD; these difficulties might be anything, from the music soundtrack, to contractural problems with the director, writer, producer or stars (films such as "Heavy Metal" or "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" saw problems like these, and it took a long time for the release of these DVD to come to pass).

It could be something simple as, perhaps the studio, who produced the film, WANTS to release the film on DVD, but haven't, as yet, been able to find an adequete and clean enough print of the film, worthy of DVD release; with the advances in computer technology, and the film studios' ability to clean up just about any film print, no matter how corrupt and worn, it's a matter of how much money they would be willing to invest, in the cleaning of the film.....and THAT would be dependent upon the demand of the film, by the DVD-buying public.

I realize that this is quite a lot to digest; my only suggestion is perhaps communicate with the production studio, who made the film, and express your desires, as I'm sure fans of "J & H" more than likely, have already done.

...or you could just bide your time, and hope for an imminent DVD release; it WILL happen, though....I am no longer surprised at the movie rarities, thought to have been lost, which have suddenly popped up on DVD!!!
