Yes, especially when the closet door was open! I also had smaller monsters that lived under the bed. They couldn't come out during the day. But I could NOT put my feet on the floor after sunset or they would be devoured! If I forgot to go to the bathroom, oh well… it would have to wait tell morning!
Now, apparently there are rules. Monsters can't touch blankets. I always felt like I was suffocating, so I often surfaced for air, then quickly submerged again. But I knew THEY were watching, so I'd sneak out a hand, turn it palm up and flex it open and closed (like a dying spider) to frighten them off so it would be safe.
This, apparently, has the power to strike absolute terror into monsters’ hearts and they won't bother you. I know, because I felt the power of it when I clawed and twisted my gnashing fingers in the night air! It is a mighty force against absolute evil! Well….. is a mighty force against mediocre, lurking closet fiends, anyway.

I was always scared when I was a child, I think I might have better described it as insecure... I had bad dreams a lot. And they were really vivid dreams... I was always being chased by a crazy man...
Sometimes in a building, sometimes on my bike or even in my own house but it was always a man and never the same face...
I even hate to think about it... I am grateful I have those no more nor do my children suffer from them...

I used to think there was a ghost, a mummy, and a skeleton living in my closet, so I'd freak out all the time. I actually used to be scared to go to the bathroom because I thought that things hide behind the toilet.

I was a pretty tough kid, but my dad let me watch a movie about a doll coming to life and killing people,(my mom wasn't home and actually, he was asleep on the couch) anyway, I didn't play with dolls after that. I was about 6 - 7 years old and that movie was waaaaay before Chuckie.

you know, he was never called the boogie man, he was just the monster who sat on the end of my bed, and so I'd sleep with a whole crap load of stuffed animals on me, but he didn't really have a name.
