Because the US has child labor laws. Here in Minnesota, you have to be 16. We're not like China, India, and probably Singapore. We don't pay our employers $0.05 a day. Minimum wage here is $6.15 per hour, soon to be around $7.00.

In most states 16 is old enough to work, some states are less then that. Some employers will not hire someone of that age do to selling alcohol or insurance reasons, but there are jobs out there for young people

They believe 16 and below kid are easily cheated especially young girls under the influence by monies...heeeheee
