Sounds like she is selfish. You get her what you want to get her nothing more and nothing less. If she is a true friend she won't give a crap what it is. My best friend did that back when i was a teenager. I had gotten her an Nsync bobblhead doll for christmas because thats what she said she wanted. She was even there when i bought it. After we left the store she looked up at me and said "Thats not all your going to get me right" So i ended up buying her some more things. And it turns out that she wanted all the expensive things but didn't want to do it in return. She ended up going down to the dollar tree for me and getting me 10 things for ten dollars. I haven't bought her a damn thing since.

Give her something nice that you can afford. A real friend will appreciate the fact that you thought about her and tried to get her something that she would like. If she rejects it because of its cost, she is not a good friend.
Recently I went to the birthday party of a friend I hadn't seen in a long time, who has expensive taste. I had been shopping for myself and saw something that reminded me of her that I thought she'd like. When she opened it, she burst into tears and hugged me until I had to beg for breath. It cost $3.00.

Get her... an accessory for one of those things. Make sure someone else gives her one of those expensive things first tho. Or something that you know she'd love judging by her personality. Like if she's always obsessing about her hair get her a cute lil brush or clip or something. Or if she's a writer get her a cute notebook and pen or pencil.

If she really is your friend she will be happy with whatever you give her. Some ideas though....Give her a gift certificate to her favorite store, take her to the movies or lunch at a unique cafe.

Unless she's Paris Hilton, she shouldn't expect you to buy her expensive stuff. Get her something personal that means something to just the pair of you.
Or go ebay shopping and get something expensive, but cheap.

Give her love whats more expensive than love? No offense your friend is kind of selfish. Just give her something that shows her personality.
