ok i ran out of pads yesterday and i am in my period. this is my second time to have it and both times my mom was out of town (funny thing is...she was in the same place...). first time i was NOT PREPARED and i was out of town too w/ ppl i didnt kno so i couldnt be helped there. i had to stuff my panties w/ toilet paper (luckily it was VERY light and only lasted a couple days) and it was vry uncomfortable. i had a swim party the night i got back from my vacation. i had called my mom and she told me to ask my friends mom. my friend from the party's older sister had extra tampons so she let me borrow some of those. i used those and took 1 or 2 home cuz she only had a couple left and was in her period too. anyway, i also borrowed a pad cuz i was spending the night at my friends house and took 2 pads home for future matters. i am now in my second period and used both the tampons and pads already (this is my first day to start my period). i obviously cant sleep in a tampon (continued below)

get a long strip of toilet tissue, put cotton balls in between, tape the ends closed, then a 2 paper towels and wrap them aroung the tissue with cotton in it. Thats how to make a homemade pad. You can do it with or without the coton in between, but the cotton is good for absorbtion. I hope this helps, because I know how it is to run out of pads and tampons too...Juts to be sure, sleep on top of an old towel, so you dont get blood on your bed sheets, and dont sleep with pajammie bottoms on, just underwear, dont wanna ruin a pair of jammies!

Tissues are ok, stack them up real thick and use them as you would a pad. Next time, be prepared ok? Restock on pads, tampons etc even when you don't need them. You can save yourself from a lot of embarassing situations especially like this one. Small towels are ok too, you need to fold them up first. Just be sure to dispose of them later. Call mom and ask her to rescue you because you can't stay in the room forever.

Is your Dad around? Just ask him to get some for you. Being with your Mum, he knows about periods and stuff, because your Mum would have them too. Most kids don't think about that, but the dad's do know. Maybe he knows if your Mum would have some somewhere at home.
If you have a nearby friend or female neighbour, you could ask them if they have spare.
And when you go shopping try to buy a few packets, or say one a week, so you get to have a few ready for those times you need them.

If you have some old cloth, like soft t-shirts that are too small to wear, or other materials like an old small hand towel or the like, you can cut up and use that absorbent cotton material, and then wrap it in paper and throw it away in the morning.

Just use a cloth or dish rag or something that will work better than a pad anyways. It's no big deal!

wad up a ton of toilet paper. It happened to me to... search the house again. your mom might have a emergency box of them hidden somewhere.
Then tomorrow, walk or ride your bike to a shop and buy some more.
