okay, so whats up with gerard way(mcr) and bert mccracken(the used)??

so this is what i know:
that like gerard and bert used to be good friends or w/e
and the bands were friends
they went on tours and stuff
the whole under pressure thing
that gee and bert made out and crap
but now i guess in 2005 the stoped being friends?
and like bert made a song sbout him or something?

Yes, they have issues with each other. Gerard was close friends with The Used singer Bert McCracken. The two recorded several songs together, including a cover of "Under Pressure" and the My Chemical Romance song, "You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison", in which McCracken provided backup vocals.

However, in 2006 they had a falling out. McCracken has said in an interview with VH1, "I'd prefer not to say anything about My Chemical Romance, except that we did have a falling out. We don't speak at all any more. It's got nothing to do with their success. I'm completely comfortable with where our band is at. We used to be very close, but no more. We had a falling out. The rest of my band, they're still mates with all the guys in that band. But I'd prefer to say nothing more about My Chemical Romance".

Both Gerard and his brother Mikey have made statements since, indicating McCracken was only joking, confessing that they remain in contact with him and nothing has happened between them. In a recent magazine interview Alternative Press, McCracken denied ever hearing about them having a falling out, and wished Gerard "the best of luck".

In a recent interview with Blender magazine Gerard revealed the true manner of the falling out. After he sobered up their friendship turned sour, and soon thereafter McCracken reportedly began to trash-talk My Chemical Romance. He stated that he hasn't spoken to Bert since the San Diego stop of the Warped Tour on June 30, 2005. Bert had tried to distract fans from My Chemical Romance's set with a megaphone, but failed.

"It was really unfortunate." says Gerard. Bert declined to comment.

Yes, Gerard were good friends (well, more than good friends). In fact, all of the band members in both bands were good friends as far as I know. And there are so many rumors about it. Gerard said Bert tried to stop some kids from watching one of their shows. And it's been rumored that The Used didn't tell MCR that they were going to put 'Under Pressure' on a special edition of their album "In Love And Death."

And even though they're not friends anymore, both bands have said they're not mad at each other any more. But I do know that both, mostly The Used, are sick of being compared to each other, and in an interview Bert got in his bad attitude mode and said he was sick of bands like MCR that all sound the same, blah blah blah. Sometimes I think Bert needs to take a chill pill.

And I've also heard that some of the other band members are still somewhat friends with each other and keep in touch, but that was about a year ago, so I don't know if it's still true.

I'll stop rambling, sorry. There's just a lot of information that flies around, but I don't know or understand the full story, and I don't think anyone except Bert and Gerard really understands what went on. Look up either one (Bert or Gerard) on Wikipedia, I think it talks about it on there.

Yeah so both bands were good friends and Bert and Gerard had a thing for a while. I'm not sure the real reason for the end of their friendship ( i doubt anyone knows but the bands themselves) but my theory is, around that time Gerard decided to become sober thus making it hard for him to be hanging around a very un-sober Bert. I have no clue if that is the real reason but it seem most logical to me. Also as for the song thing supposedly the song handsomely Awkward which is on The Used's new CD is about Gerard.
