Wouldn't that make all of your GREAT memories, mundane ? There must be a negative, to have a positive. To be able to move up, there has to be a down. To have yin you must have yang. Both must flow equally, and uniformly, to unite as one. How would you recognize GOOD if you have not experienced bad ? Each opposite, compliments, each other. Oh, little Grasshopper, You shall learn. No, I would definitely NOT.

Absolutely not. I endured 10 years of nonphysical abuse, and developed a mental illness as a result. That part was a living hell. BUT - having come through it as a survivor, now I seek out people living through difficulty of any kind, and if there's something I can do to help, I do it. My bad memories prompt me to give someone else a good memory. It's a healing experience.

No, I think if you erased your bad memories you would never have anything to learn from. Mistakes that you have made, people who have taken advantage of you, you know, things like that!

well, maybe but I personally wouldn't. In my case I have had my fair share of bad memories, but because of those memories I am what I am today. If i didn't have some of those bad memories I would be a different person than I am today, in my opinion.

No, because even though they're bad memories, they're still part of your life. If I didn't remember those different parts of my life that taught me how to deal with the problems, then I would have to relearn everything I learned from those bad experiences!

I wouldn't take it. My bad memories (along with the good) has made me the person I am today. Bad things in your life is a way to learn.. a way to make yourself better.

The mind preforms that task for us, by suppressing, however we can circumvent that process by fixation, getting stuck in the past, and not creating new more pleasant memories.

no I wouldn't. everything happens for a reason, every single event in our life is meant to teach us something, erasing it would be like getting rid of a teaching, one that unexpectantly may be needed in the future as a reference for whatever reason
