Here is the exact product: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814130071 And I want to know how much watts it uses of my power supply. It says it needs a minimum of a 400 watt power supply but it doesn't specifically say how much it uses like the processor I'm getting which says it will take about 100 watts of my power supply.

I was planning on getting this power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817341002 It's about 700W so I think it should be sufficient for years to come with new technology.

That 8800GTS consumes about 106 watts primarily from the +12V rail. Your processor would also take 100watts from the +12V rail. All the fans and motors of the HDD and CD drive are powered by the +12V rail. I really doubt a 400W power supply could power your rig. Most likely, its +12V wattage would be 200-250W. The rest of the wattage is in the +3.3V and +5V.

Get a higher rated power supply (500-550W) with strong +12V rail. Dual +12V rail would be best. A big power supply runs cooler, lasts longer and gives you elbow room for upgrades.
