The Spurs seem to be stockpiling players to bring on their roster in the summer of 2008 like 2002 first round draft choice in 27 year old European superstar and former European MVP Luis Scola , a 2005 first round draft choice of an early twenties French F/C type, a 2007 first round draft choice of Brazilian center Splitter who would have been a 2007 "lottery" choice in 2007 had he been eligible to sign in the summer of 2007, and with the Spurs possibly holding a first round draft choice from Phoenix exerciseable through 2010.

With 20 year old former Big 12 freshman of the year Marcus Williams and 2 year NCAA veteran, Spurs property, in the NBA-D league, Euro veteran and star Luis Scola, Euro veteran Splitter, is this the way for a NBA team to build for the future, and future continued success, in 2008 and beyond as the Spurs Tim Duncan, health permitting, has hopefully, 5 to 8 more years in the NBA and as 20ish Parker and Manu are locked in long term Spurs contracts as is Duncan?

No doubt, the Spurs have the system totally figured out. They always keep a competitive team and time players out until they are past their peak, they pick up these guys over seas that can't play now, so it works out for the Spurs, those guys continue to develop and come into the league ready to perform at a high level.

Seems they are always focused on the present and the future.

The Orlando Magic are 3-1 as of right now. Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis seem to be getting off on the right foot. My only hope is that Howard can improve his percentages and effeciency and Lewis stays healthy. With those two contributing a great inside-outside game for a full season, the Magic should put up a fight in the SE Division. However, Jameer Nelson hasn't shown that he is ready to be a NBA-caliber PG (plus he is battling injuries). This may be his last season in Orlando to get things together. Plus, we lost Grant Hill in the off-season (Were you aware he was the 2nd leading scorer on the team last year?? Wow.) In the Division, the Bobcats vastly improved with the addition of J-Rich. A team with Okafur, Richardson, Raymond Felton, and Gerald Wallace seems pretty intimidating on paper. The Heat seem to be getting worse and older (but the return of Wade should help them greatly). Hopefully Orlando can stay competitive with these teams. MVP? Early signs show K.G. as being dominate as ever. If you thought he was good in Minnesota, imagine how he'll be when the playoffs are not only a possibility, but Boston is a favorite in the East to go all the way. The man never gave less that 100% in Minnesota, so get ready for 20+ ppg and 12+ rpg.
