If the law only applies to those without power, shouldn't those without power ignore the law?
Nothing seems to matter anymore in the US. The president like Nixon is corrupt. He uses the law to personally help his friends in various ways.
It distgusts me. If people like this are running America, there is no America. This sickness in America has to end by any means necessary.
Malcom X said by the bullet or the ballot. The ballot doesn't seem to be working.

This about politicians from all parties. Why do the American people put up with this. America is nothing to be respected as it seems that democracy and justice are a failure there. I'm not saying the US is worse than other countries; it's just the same. It's not a model for other countries to follow. You've got a little freedom living in the US but your vote doesn't count and justice will never be fair to you if you don't have money or connections.

Scooter Libby is a convicted liar and he obstructed justice. They were looking for the underlying crime, but he obstructed them to keep the government from being able to prove the underlying offense because it would have pointed to Bush and Cheney.
Those who cried crocodile tears because Clinton pardoned Marc Rich--a jerk to be sure, but as far as I know he didn't endanger anyone's life--think it's just fine that Scooter Libby and his cohorts destroyed a woman's career and possibly cost other covert agents their lives. Oh, that's OK! He was one of us.
As Keith Olbermann said tonight, Bush and Cheney crossed the Rubicon tonight:

If you are rich, Republican and part of Bush's Cadre you are now officially above the law. When Bush takes absolute control later this year under some kind of emergency powers act after another major terrorist attack and a unilateral (1rst) nuclear (surprise) strike against Iran (bringing us to about 2 nanoseconds to midnight with all out global nuclear war with Russia and China), he will have paved the way to rescind the constitution, the Bill of Rights and murder the entire democratic process (as well as having every member of the democratic party arrested and charged with treason (and heresy) for being "Unamerican" and "Immoral"). After this is done, scores of citizens will be arrested under a renewed Patriot Act (which means simply if you have spoken out against the current administration you are unpatriotic and this in itself will label you as a threat to national security and possibly as a terrorist).
After a few weeks of this and after he has total control over everyone through fear he we announce the USA has been renamed to UECS (United Empires of Corporate States) and anyone from ages 13-55 and below a certain income bracket will be drafted and sent to new wars in every oil bearing country on the face of the globe.

Go look at the list of some of the crooked SOB's other President's have pardoned (not commuted their sentence). As for the "bullet or ballot" comment and the "ignore the law" portion of your question, duh, why don't you just ask someone to "tell me about the rabbits, George?" I've been against the pardoning/commuting of sentences all my life, but I realize it is a fact of political life so get over it. President Bush is a rookie at this, President Clinton knew how to pardon real criminals.
Edit:
To Richard D below:
If President Bush is going to take absolute power later in the year, why isn't he pushing hard to disarm the populace? Oh, that's right, that effort is being orchestrated by another political party.

Don't try to break the law though, YOU WILL ROT IN A CELL. Fibby, oops I mean Libby, was let off by the president because he would have been a time bomb sitting in a cell. They were afraid that he would tell the truth about the administrations involvement in everything. Keith Olbermann said it all.

Only the ones who are following Bush and Cheney's orders, knowing the sentence will be commuted (a pardon will be issued in 1 1/2 years. How better to show his appreciation for outing Plame and then perjuring himself about it, all on direct orders?
