My friend has been having contractions through out the week, about 3 days this week she got them, she wants to know if it is normal to have b/h all the time or what exactly do all these contractions mean? And she only has 4wks left in her pregnancy! She has called her dr. more then once and they told her to just keep track of them. but she is (i think) just curious if this baby is going to be coming sooner then expected! lol Thanks for all your answers they mean alot!

My question (to be more clear) is, is it normal to have b/h or contractions that many times in one week being that she only has 4wks left of pregnancy? she gets contractions or b/h 3 or 4x a week, is that normal to get them that often?

It's perfectly normal and tell your friend that she has nothing to worry about. It happen to me right in my 28 week , I was steady contracting and I had my child right on time, even though she was 2 days early than what we expected. But it perfectly fine, so don't worry!

Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. If they appear to be common, you must leisure and drink a few water. The extra hydrated you're the fewer you are going to have them. If you had been in early hard work, the contractions would not stop, they might simply preserve getting more potent. As a long way as the release, so long as there is not any smell or some thing, it is traditional. Your frame raises vaginal discharge in instruction for supply, it's going to occur by way of the leisure of your being pregnant. The diarrhea was once in general some thing you ate.

As long as she doesn't have more than four in one hour than she is perfectly normal for being 4 weeks away. Just keep time of them when she gets one with this contraction timer:

And have her call her doctor if she gets four or more in one hour. Tell her to hang in there! Good Luck!

It is perfectly normal to have braxton hicks contraction every day for months...I have them every day and I am 31 weeks.

Braxton Hicks don't necessarily mean she'll go into full labor early, some people have the from 5 months on! If she's due in 4 weeks, she shouldn't panic- if she can hold out another week the baby will be fine! Even right now the baby would not be overly premature!

Tell your friend that this is very normal - the Braxton-Hicks contractions tone up the uterus, so those of us with a lot of
them frequently have speedier labors!
This does not mean he/she will come early - both of mine were overdue.
My first - 5'21"
second - 2'40"
