At this age unless he is really small then it can actually be dangerous. Check with the local fire dept. about age/ weight/ size restrictions for boosters.

How does a 16 year old fit in a booster seat? If it humilates him than obviously he is old enough not to be in one.
Unless he has a medical problem and this is for his best interest, I would definitely speak to your family doctor because your Mom may be damaging his ego, and his independance to grow maturly.
Sometimes a Mother loves her children so much she doesn't see how she can be smoothering them with love.
You don't say how old you are and if she made you sit in a car booster seat at sixteen.

Unless your brother is 4 feet tall or under and weights like 60 lbs then get him out of the seat!!
Have our mom read the booster seat manual the seat is made for toddlers! not 16 year olds. Just tell him to refuse to sit in it and if she asks why give her a manual and tell her he's 16...there are a million reason's why he shouldn't sit in a booster seat. Actully if the is the normal height of a 16 year old then it probably would do him more harm then help.....
wow....good luck

Ummmm i wouldn't say it was wrong because obviously she has his best interest in mind but i do think it is being a little over protective. Sixteen is an age where people want freedom. They can drive and they are in high school experiencing life and to be stuck in a booster seat? Well that may be a little unfair.... Maybe you should have him face his fear of saying no right now. He can just approach her on why she makes him sit in the seat and try to discuss the situation from both points of view. Do NOT take the that's not fair approach. Be as calm as possible and simply tell him to tell her how he feels. She may be a little skeptical but she'll come around. Trust me. Good luck and Best wishes [!]

booster seats are designed for certain weights. Is he small for his age? Still, 16 is too old for a booster seat. The oldest child that should be in a booster seat should be about 8 years old.
Tell him to tell her, that he is a growing man, at age 16... you are starting to grow up and you don't need a kiddie chair. Does she make him use a booster seat when he goes out to eat at a resturant?
He needs to speak up, I can see how this would be humiliating. Best of wishes.

Is he at least 4'9" tall AND weigh at least 80lbs? If he meets both of those than a booster seat is not necessary at all and there's no reason to 'humiliate' him. However, there's lots of full grown adults out there who actually need booster seats - and some that use them! Vehicle seat belts will only properly restrain someone who is at least 4'9" tall and 80lbs. If a person is less than that, its not as safe as it could be. However, at 16, his body has already gone through the ossification process that hardens and molds his bones together, meaning his body should fare similarly to an adult's in a crash.

How big is your brother? is there a reasonable explanation to your mom having him sit in a booster seat? I would understand if he was small for his size.

Is there a reason? Is he a small person? If he is then maybe she is doing it for his safety and dosen't mean to hurt him. If he is a normal 16 year old boy and she's making him do it out of meaness he should stand up to her.

If this is genuine I feel so sorry for your brother. All I can say is he needs to stand up for himself ... he's almost a man for goodness sake. Maybe you should talk to your mom about her bizarre behaviour.
