Everyone is right but I also wanted to add that you are a young lady and your insides are small. You really need to get the smallest tampax you can because you can't easily put a nickle into a dime hole. Also, if you are afraid of leakage while in the pool don't be but don't loose track of time and as soon as it is time you really need to change. To add to what one said about just tugging it out you have to be careful because the string can come off and then you may have to make a visit to your local doctor , yuck.

I think you r doing the right thing, R U sure u are putting them in right? When removing it, it should b starting to show on a panty liner, or when u wipe. Taking them out b4 this is unconfrontable, and is a learned technic. And always use the smallest size tampon 4 your flow, so stay with lites. I also saw 2 1 time in the store u can but tampons 4 newbies. I find that the easiest way is to sit on the tiolet and lift your hips so you can reach it better, this position also helps with removal, and push like you r peeing. Pee if you have to that way on won't tense up, you can't when u are pushing.

Was there a problem with swimming & the tampon? Two rules of thumb:
If you can still feel it after you insert it, you didn't get it far enough in.
Don't try to remove a tampon until it's fairly soaked. A dry tampon really hurts to remove.
Pearl lites are fine, since I assume you're a virgin.

That tampon is fine to start with. After you've been using them more you will find them a bit easier to use. If you have trouble inserting it high enough, I always found twisting the applicator would help. It can be a little uncomfortable to remove if the tampon is not saturated enough, but it's better to be a little uncomfortable then to leave it in past the maximum time it says on the box.

Those are fine. I use the new Tampax Compak Pearl Regular or Lites. It's fine you should have used a light one you did fine. Yup they are hard to take out every time that's the hardest part but you get used to it. It will hurt taking it out if you do it slowly. Give it a tug, don't go slowly; it might hurt for 1 second but then it goes away don't worry.

put some vaseline on the applicator and that will make the removal later a little easier and also if u keep a tampon in for like 2 hours and its not very soaked then its gonna hurt more to take out. leave it in longer for about 4 hours and then try taking it out and it shouldnt hurt as bad cause then u dont have all that dry cotton rubbing against u

If you find them uncomfortable go to the very smallest size, they have them specifically for teens. The other girls are right, if they are not lubricated enough they can cause a little pain upon removal, try leaving them in for up to but no more than 4 hours. Leaving them in too long or using the improper absorption level can cause other problems, see the package insert on TSS.

yeah they are a bit violating to remove. but i would suggest keep wearing lites until you notice that they wont last at least four hours without leaking. i've had my period since last july and i still wear lites! plus would u rather pull that tiny tampon out of you or an even bigger one? lol well i hope i helped at all.

You might want to try tampons made for younger girls and their first periods. Besides, your flow is supposed to stop while you are in the pool. It always stopped for me.

For years I was a lifeguard - I understand your pain. However, this last year I stumbled upon the best invention known to women. Called the Diva Cup. It is a plastic cup that you have to insert - once inserted you forget it's there. This cup needs to be dumped every 12 HOURS!!!! Washed with soap and reinserted. Best of all it last a year for one low cost of 30 dollars if not less!!! Wow, convience and cheap. My kind of thing! I got mine at London Drugs but I am seeing them in more drug stores.
Enjoy
