I was wondering if it were possible for dark energy to exist in my living room or bed or bathroom or in the grocery store?

As a matter of fact, there is! The whole universe is permeated with energy left over from the big bang. The density of this energy is very weak, equal to only about 4 deg Kelvin or -269 deg Celsius.

Probably dark energy, it it exists at all, is everywhere. However unlike gravity, which is stronger where there is more mass, dark energy is the same everywhere per unit volume of space so it takes very large distances and very large volumes of space for its effects to become detectable.

According to what I just read, your living room is chock-full of dark energy (at a density of 10^-29 gm/cm^3) My research wasn't a total waste of time, though. I learned that we live in a Flat Universe (where have I heard THAT before?).

Doubtful. The theory behind it is in relation to distances between galaxies.

all dark energy emanates from my necromancer wife who has demonic powers like you wouldn't believe. I have therefore developed wards to defend myself from her necro'lic ferrets and Nats taint punches.....you should do the same.
