I am in love with a man that has been seperated for over a year, but the divorce is not final. He cheated on her, then she cheated on him. They say it is over, but he is still in love with her. She recently started seeing someone new. Is there any hope for me with him? Or am I being naive?

RUN as fast as you can!!!! This situation can only end up with someone getting a broken heart...probably you. If he cheated on her, he'll cheat on you too. And, you'll always wonder if he's with someone else. Stay away from him.

I think the words "he is still in love with her" says it all. Sweetie, don't start off this relationship being second best. You are only going to end up hurt. Although they say the marriage is over, his emotional connection to her isn't and he can't honestly move on with another relationship when he's still tied to the first one. It just doesn't work. He has to take the time to sort through his emotions. And now that she's dating again, it's a safe bet that some of those emotions are going to surface. Don't be the rebound girl, don't be the one he's using to get his mind off of her....you deserve more than that, and he's just not ready yet.

Sounds like you're "almost" being naive.

Don't waste your time with a man who is not finalizing a divorce with a woman he admittedly still cares for. Don't worry about what she's doing, he's the one whose actions you need to pay attention to and understand.

Someon is not "almost divorced". He is either divorced or he isn't. He cheated on her and is still with her. Why would you even want him? Naive is a nice way of putting it. Move on.

If you want a secure relationship then you have to
wait until he is divorced and see where the relation
