I don't believe in it, but I can certainly applaud those that do.

Although waiting does offer several advantages it does leave open one very large and important disadvantage.

What if you find that you aren't sexually compatible? You're already married/committed to one another at this point.

Sex isn't everything- and shouldn't be what a marriage is based on, but it is a really really important part of mariage and it's important that spouses are sexually compatible. Good sex won't mean a good marriage but a good marriage won't mean good sex either.

I wanted to know that the person I was going to spend the next fifty or sixty years sharing my life with was compatible with me and enjoyed the same things, and on the flip side- that they also enjoyed me in that way.

So, does anyoe believe in waiting until marriage? Yes
But I believe the majority of people don't.

Well, believe it or not, in some cheezy parts of the World there are people (mostly women) who are still infatuated with the idea of waiting until marriage.

Let's say in my Country for example, I had a girlfriend of 4 years way back in highschool..in 4 years you would normally think we've gone all the way but to everybody's surprise I respected her wishes of waiting till marriage. Where is she now? in the arms of another monkey and God knows how she evolved over the past 10 years..she's still not married but I doubt it if she's kept her highschool fantasy of waiting till marriage.

Moral of the story is - Screw waiting ! strike while the iron is hot, don't be left out wondering what if because there is only so much that we can play with in our imagination. Well, on the brighter side of it, Unlike most countries, my country has a strict "no return no exchange policy" on items bought..same as in out marital system - no divorce. But what if you did not test your product before purchase and it turned out to be a lemon? What if you did not ride the horse before the big race and you realized she could only go 1 round? Strict consequences awaits..that's why it's always better to make sure you get married to someone with complete compatability because it's a big step and you might wanna be sure of it.

Also, there are also other ways to manipulate those who want to wait before marriage..hehehe (maybe post anther question)

Why in the hell would anyone in their right mind want to wait until marriage. How would you know if he was any good in bed and how in the world would you find a man that would wait for it until marriage. The man that tells you he will wait until the two of you are married is out getting it from someone else. I just don't get it if you know your getting married why hold out, your only hurting yourself by doing that. Why take that chance of him having sex with other women and catching something and giving it to you the very first time you make love.

YES!!!! There are lots of people out there that understand the importance of waiting....of course they all live in Utah, lol. You won't have to worry about STD's, unwanted pregnancy, people talking behind your back, calling your a slut. You won't ever be dissapointed you waited for the "right" person at the "right" time. And an added bonus, God loves it when a person does the right thing in the right way.

I do, and I do plan on following through with that decision.

Theres lots of excuses not to, but theres also lots of excuses to speed in a car, to drink, smoke, etc. See my point?

Now why would I want to give myself to someone that I wasnt going to spend the rest of my life with, and moreover, why on earth would I date someone that willingly gave that away to someone that is now meerley an ex. if they can do that what does that make their commitment to marriage?

Now thats just my opinion and why Im waiting for marriage. Also why I wont marry someone that has done it before.

No. No point in putting off something that is really one of the very fun things in life. You can have sex just for enjoyment, not to procreate. And suppose you don't marry? Are you never going to have sex? Once you are mature enough to know how to protect yourself, then there is no reason you should not have a healthy sex life.

Waiting until marriage is God's plan. It changes the whole relationship when you don't wait.

I think sometimes the guy that you are marrying might not be the one that you really love.

I will only give my first time to the one i love most... so what if he not the one with me forever... I wun regrets.

Definatly, sex is suppose to be something special shared between 2 people, not half the world or whoever happens to be available at the time.
