He waited until it became clear Libby that would be going to jail before the end of the president's term, and maybe he feels like he can't take that chance.
I think he's afraid that Libby's constitution will fail upon hearing the big clank behind him, and he may feel more like talking about just what conversations actually took place in the White House about Ms Wilson back in '03.....

He was rewarded for not ratting on Bush and Cheney whose orders he was following when he outed Plame. In 1 1/2 years Bush will pardon him.

When I heard Bush commuted Libby's sentence
I said Bush is involved some how. I bet Bush is as guilty as Libby. If he is we have another Watergate on our hands.

No big surprise. This is just part of politics.
I would prefer that both parties be above this kind of stuff, but again this is part of politics. When Clinton pardoned Mark Rich (I think that was his name), all the republicans were outraged. Now the democrats are outraged.
