Well, I don't know if you want us to limit our answer to just one. Still, I'm going to give you ten of my favorite dramas, comedies, romances and musicals with at least one entry apiece dedicated to every decade from the 30's- presents:

Drama:
1. Gone With the Wind (1939)
2. The Best Years of Our Lives (1946)
3. The Long Hot Summer (1958)
4. To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)
5. Summer of '42 (1971)
6. Out of Africa (1985)
7. A Time to Kill (1996)
8. Pearl Harbor (2001)
9. Evening (currently in theaters)
10. It's a Wondeful Life (1946)

Comedies:

1. Bringing Up Baby (1938)
2. The Philadelphia Story (1940)
3. Some Like It Hot (1959)
4. Yours,Mine, and Ours (1968)
5. Young Frankenstein (1974)
6. Seems Like Old Times (1980)
7. Nine to Five (1982)
8. Oscar (1991)
9. License to Wed (currently in theaters)
10. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)

*I'll edit my comments and finish list tomorrow. What's great is that each of these movies can potentially fit into more than one category. Also, checking out some of these classics can really broaden your horizons. Give them a chance. Also, I don't know how old you are. A few of these have questionable content but in my opinion are all done tastefully.
Romances:

1. It Happened One Night (1934)
2. The Uninvited (1944)
3. Love in the Afternoon (1957)
4. Pillow Talk (1960)
5. Butterflies are Free (1974)
6. Somewhere In Time (1980)
7. Ever After (1998)
8. The Notebook (2004)

The Not-So-Scary Versions of some very scary movies:!:
including:
The ExAssist (She's a retired McDonald's Shift Manager/He's the demon burger clown who lives inside her!).

Choke (Sometimes you try to scream. But you can't.)

Drop Dead: Dawn Of The Fred (Fred: Well why don't we harpoon Charles straight through the head, drag him back to the apartment, and hit him with a hammer until he agrees to come back?
Elizabeth: Harpoon him through the head. That won't work Fred.
Fred: Why not? How many times have you tried it?).

The Third Sense (It's not just a prequel, it smells bad too.).

Jaws Vs Titanic (A Woman's Heart is a deep... SHARK!)

Planet Of The Grape Apes (grape ape. grape ape. )

House Of Tax (Pray. Pay. Or Run Away.)

John Carpenter's Escape From The Halloween Thing (The Night Nobody Came... ehr Home. ;-)
