my girlfriends son has his girlfriend knocked up, sorry for the harsh wording but its a very touchy subject with a lot of frustration. Is she being my girlfriend, still responsible for his actions. He has already been in trouble with the law and so on she is worried that if he gets out of her house and gets into trouble, will she get in trouble for him being a minor or will he be considered a adult

The site says:
Under 18: If either party is under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by parents.
• If under the age of 16, Tennessee law requires that the couple receives a court order before being allowed to marry.

If she is worried about her son being in trouble with the law, I suggest that she and her son contact an attorney immediately.

once an individual is legally married they are considered a legal adult (whether they have reached the age of majority or not). your friend may also want to look into emancipating her son if she feels that she can no longer effectively guide him based on his current age and direction.

i would strongly recommend that she seek legal advice in tennessee though before operating under any generalizations posted on answers.

she may also want to seek some sort of counseling from a member of her clergy or a LCSW for herself, her son, and her son's girlfriend. the road that they have positioned themselves on will not be an easy one, and as his mother (regardless of how she feels right now) it will not be easy to see her child and her grandchild go through the harsh trials and tribulations that await them.

hope that this helps!
take care & God bless!

Boo them both to the curb.If they are married then they should be responsible, but find out from an attorney first. If you are STILL responsible then CRACK the whip and lock him down, drug test him, no phone calls, no friends no car no computer for the boy.Just a job which she takes him to and from. Then she gets to see the paycheck. He will either straighten up or move out.

Once they get married they are considered an adult and the parents are not responsible.

Nope, by getting married they legally emancipate themselves. If her son legally emancipates himself and gets into trouble with the law he will be on his own.
