If you're going after September (2007), you can also take the Metro. Kongens Nytorv (the center) to airport in 13 minutes. http://www.m.dk Same price as train--28,50 DKK one way. Copenhagen trains, busses, and metro have shared ticketing; buy for 1, use for all, valid for 1 hour per 2 zones covered.

If you will be making several trips via public transport, then buy a 2 zone clip card for 120 DKK, and buy a "tillægsbillet" for 9,50 DKK to cover 1 extra zone from\to the airport (since the airport takes 3 zones from then center of Copenhagen).

There are frequent trains straight from the airport to the center that takes about 12 minutes. It's the cheapest and best way.

You can go by train and also metro(soon*) from the airport to the centre.
They both will run frequently and take about 15 minutes.
The cost is moderate and will be the same for either mode.
