Your question referred to "all the time," and the answer is
Y E S.
Engines with a minimum of 9:1 gear ratio perform at best with a minimum octane rating of 92 for efficiency (R-M/2).
Octane Booster brings your car to around 110 Octane.
That being said, when cars are raced, they are filled with high octane racing fuel (available at either certain gas stations under the label. 'NASCAR Fuel' or you can purchase this fuel at most local speed shops).
Keeping this fuel in your car will not harm it, but is 'excessively wasteful dollar-wise' to continue using it if your car isn't raced.
It is also 'excessively wasteful performance-wise (which converts to wasteful dollar-wise) to use regular or medium gas instead of premium fuel for your BMW.
Most cars used only for racing, keep the fuel in the tank all the time.

A general rule of thumb for all cars, either stock or only lightly modified, is that the best octane to use is whichever one is recommended by the manufacturer. The engine was designed to run on X octane, and therefore will run best on X octane.

There is no point in putting a higher-than-premium octane gas into your BMW because your car's DME (computer) is only programmed to accept premium fuel as the best fuel. Any higher octane will only reap marginal benefit (if any).
UNLESS, you can find someone to reprogram your DME to account for high octane fuel...

I am not sure the car's computer will adjust to that much octain booster and I think the excess heat might burn the valves.
