I am sixteen, and I have noticed that some users blantly disregard another user's question pending on the subject, by making a satirizing comment about the person's age. I find this highly vulgar and a sign of arrogance that some people believe that maturity is based on your age, which I undoubtedly disagree with.

age does matter, at 16 what you think of the world will not be your thoughts at 26. do your self a favor and write down questions about life. your beleif in what life is, what the future holds, what the oppisite sex means, the most important relationships...... and put this letter aside and every five years pull it out and see if your views have changed.

Age is a paradox. It certainly doesn't matter when it comes to intelligence and sometimes maturity. It does matter in the sense that there is some wisdom that you can ONLY aquire by being on the planet for a longer period. I thought this was stupid when I was 21, I think it is wisdom at 57. A part of that aging wisdom is that you can be a little gentler with yourself and others. If you never lose contact with that inner child, age will not be as big of a deal. Nothing is as permanent as it seems at 16. good luck my young friend, and keep asking questions.

While that may be true, and I agree that it is wrong, for how else are we to learn if we don't ask questions. The problem is that there are a lot of teens that are mature for there age ( I was once one of you ),however, just because you act and think at a level of maturaty that is much higher than your peers, that does not make your level of maturaty equal to someone who is 15 years or more older than you, because what you lack is experience, and without the experience your maturaty is unballanced.
That being said,I do have a problem with any one who would attack any one, just because of the age, because even with what I said about maturaty,I do believe it is important to have the view points of the younger generations,as it makes the end results more balanced as well.

Your only 16, lol no i'm not laughing at you,
wait'll you hit my age, i'll tell you what
i find vulger that in such a politically correct racial and gender society that young people act so righteous about
yet think nothing of treating a senior citizen as though they don't even exzist, and i'm quite sure your gonna get the standard idiotic answer that age is just a number, yeh if your 21 and have your whole life ahead of you but wait till your on in years suddenly the " JUST A NUMBER" become's your worst enemy, not to mention the mirrors in your home. no i agree with you in fact your quite right
i admire you in fact cause i didn't have the courage to ask that on here. you wouldn'e believe how low i feel when i wanna get involved on the internet but have to feel self concious like when i answer questions on hear, i can just hear it, what doe the old guy know? what the hell is doing on here any way . . . good luck and try not worry about it, what goes around comes around . . .

i agree entirely.

some people think that maturity comes with age - but some people's life experiences by the age of 16 can put them in the position of knowledge beyond that of their peers.

Just wait until you're fresh out of college and no one wants to hire you because you're too young, without giving any consideration to your ability. It's like reverse age discrimination. Remember that quality people will not judge you for age alone.

I agree with you. Some people are mature beyond their age and some never mature

I imagine they remember what they were like at that age. I was always pretty mature for my age, so I know where you're coming from.
