I always love the 4th of July because of the fireworks, and the cook-outs. This hasn't crossed my mind at all until now- What the heck are we celebrating? i know it's about America, but is it the day America was discovered or something? I have no clue. Please answer!!!

The Declaration of Independence was Signed on July 4th 1776. It declared our Independence from England.

We don't celebrate thee 4th of July. We celebrate Independence Day which was declared on the 4th of July.

It's also called Independence day.
