Calling out all NURSES!!?

Question

I'm a girl planning a carrer towards nursing, and finally going to apply to some college next year.
What are the first steps you did?
What types of classes are beneficial in this carrer path?
What are some of the things you wished WOULD have done to be better at what your doing now?
Did you really know anything about Nursing when You wanted to go this path? (because I have no clue at all but really intersted)
Any advice??

Your career counselors will advise you well. I had all my prereq's done before nursing school. Nursing school is a lot to juggle and you need to be sure it's what you want.
I wish I had more computer classes. They weren't required then, but a lot of my work requires computer skills. I wish I had taken the psych classes later because nursing 1 covered a lot of psych fundamentals that I'd kind of forgotten.
I don't regret it, I'm amazed that I did it because I had 4 kids at home, but it's paid off well. A lot of opportunities in nursing. Good luck to you! And if you get a chance, work in a hospital as a CNA or secretary. It helps to aclimate you to the hospital climate.

OK, THIS IS THE BIGGEST THING U NEED TO KNOW, WHEN SOME ONE COMES UP TO U WITH A HUGE CUT, YOU PUT EXACTLY 3 QUARTS OF SALT INTO IT.
