There are two kinds of tons. The long ton, at 2,240 lbs, or the short ton, which is 2,000 pounds.
If you have 1,000 tons, all you have to do is multiply the tons by either 2,240 or 2,000, depending on which kind of ton your teacher has assigned you for this question. Or you could do both, because it's simple multiplication, and your teacher will be very impressed with you.
And many is spelled m-a-n-y. There is no 'e' in it.

2,240,000 Lbs

So it would depend on what type of Ton it is.

1 long (or gross) ton = 2240 pounds
1 short (or net) ton = 2000 pounds

1 tonne (i.e., a metric ton) = 2204.6 pounds

In the United States, when people say "a ton," they're thinking the short ton, or 2000 pounds.

I am assuming you are referring to the English customary system of measurement. There are 2,000 pounds in a ton. So, 1000 tons would equate to 2,000,000 pounds (1,000 x 2,000).

If you are talking about the American ton, there are 2000 pounds to the ton. Therefore, 1,000 tons would equal
1000tons x 2000 pounds/ton = 2,000,000 pounds.

If you were talking about metric tonnes, you have 2,200 pounds per tonne. Therefore, you would have 1,000tonnes x 2,200 lbs/tonne = 2,200,000 pounds.
