What do you think about the president commuting his sentence?

Yeah, how 'bout that Scooter Libby? It seems he's scooted right through all his troubles thanks to that den of thieves in the White House. It should come as no surprise: Bush and Cheney both know that if Scooter sat in jail for even a few days, he'd squeal like a greased pig. And that would be the end of Bush and Cheney's criminal careers.
That's also why Bush will give Libby a full pardon before he leaves office; for their own legacies, Bush and Cheney must keep Scooter comfortable....and quiet.
I think the President should be in jail for a lot of reasons:
1. He lied to the American people and the Congress about 'weapons of mass destruction' so that he could illegally, unconstitutionally, unjustifiably and immorally invade another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States;
2. He has repeatedly violated the laws of our land and the U.S. Constitution;
3. He condoned, as Commander-In-Chief, the torture and sexual abuse of 'detainees' at 'Gitmo' and completely disregarded the rules of the Geneva Convention, to which the U.S.A. is a signatory;
4. He has put American taxpayers TRILLIONS of dollars in debt all for the sake of OIL and WAR PROFITEERING;
5. His runaway spending on a senseless 'war' will result in the worst economic depression in America's history soon after Bush leaves office;
6. He has 'stood up' for the likes of Tom DeLay, a corrupt U.S. Attorney General, greedhead business associates such as Ken Lay, and countless other 'friends' who live right over the edge of the law;
7. He has ignored the plight of America's disadvantaged, underprivileged, sick, aged, poor, hungry, unemployed, disabled, and homeless while giving tax breaks to his 'fat cat' friends;
8. He has avoided dealing with the serious environmental issues facing this nation and the world, refusing to admit that there is a delicate ecological balance between all men. plants and animals necessary for our very survival on this planet;
9. He has arrogantly commuted the prison sentence of a convicted felon, making a mockery of our system of justice all in an effort to save his own political legacy;
10. And, oh, yes - as Commander-In-Chief of our armed forces, he has assumed no responsibility, or taken no accountability, for the deaths of 675,000 Iraqi citizens and 3,500 U.S. soldiers. -RKO- 07/03/07

I just found out the truth behind that little act. Libby's sentence was commuted because he told Shrub Jr. that if he (Libby) went to prison, he was going to tell all the dirt he has on Shrub Jr. and Cheney. So Bushie acted to prevent that and save his own skin.

I think there should not be a double standard. Upon second thought, I think president Bush is treading on shaky ground in that He has placed his authority next to God, making himself appear as our higher authority. I feel very uneasy that a president can be selective to do so for his people in politics and giving the impression they are more worthy of pardon simply because he says so.I think Washington is treading upon dangerous grounds.

for sure, we would desire to check this ingredient of Presidential skill, because of the fact it is huge open for abuse. actual Clinton abused it and Bush would have his turn to abuse it as nicely. My greatest criticism approximately this complete deal is the reality that one guy's perjury and obstruction of justice is a technique or the different diverse than yet another's based on the circumstances of their case. trip him, pardon him, sanctify Scooter, yet provide up telling me his violation of the regulation is a technique or the different ok. it is not.

I think it has been blown WAY out of proportion. Clinton pardoned 140 people on his last day in office, and the media barely touched that.

Just goes to show how corrupt the media is in this country.
