I had the same problem and asked a contractor what to do he said get A product called Zypex..Its a fast drying cement. which when spread on the crack will stop water from seeping into the basement..I figured it would dry in about half an hour..Nope 5 count them 5 minutes and its like granite Ha HA ...I mixed a little bit at a time in a plastic container and forced it into the crack and kept mixing small amounts and appling until all the crack wias filled..I wore rubber gloves I would strongly suggest you do as well.. It will stop and fill the crack while water is seeping through. Remember what I said 5 minutes and it is hard so dont mix lots at one time or your container will be solid...No leaking so far..it solved my problem

Hold it there Cowboy, maybe the problem is poor drainage next to the foundation. Missing a splashblock, anyone? A lot of good can be done with a properly placed bunch of dirt and clean rain gutters and downspouts. Things around a house change over the years and settling of backfill is one of them. Worth a look, anyway. Good luck.

You just got a temporary solution to your problem but, it's not the permanent one. Yes, you can stop the water for now but, it's still there.

What your going to have to do is seal your basement from the outside, permanently.
For this, your going to have to hire a contractor, I would do it as soon as possible. Remember, sealing it temporarily, if it works, is only a temporary job. You can put a new coat of paint on a old barn and make it look new but, it's still an old barn.

The entire basement will have to have the walls sealed and the drain lines, if you have them, replaced. Then back filled with new gravel for drainage.
