Harvesting oats when I was 13. Payed 25 cents an hour which was good pay back then. But the straw (oat stalks) had to be loaded onto wagons with pitch forks and then put into the hayloft of a barn the same way. Working in that hayloft under a tin roof was about 130F degrees and the chaff from the straw stuck to the sweat so that you itched all over. Most miserable work I ever did.

The worst job I ever had, Ar, was as a hotel maid. I had to clean up everybody elses crap and mess. It didn't pay well and was not worth the risk of exposure to God knows What!! I remember that job every time I stay in a motel and I clean up after my own self! Good question! Nana

I used to make plastic filter bags. To make these you had to stand in a room at 120 degrees F while plastic microfibers blew out of a die and collected on a rotating mandrill which had to be moved back and forth at regular timed intervals. It was like working in a giant cotton candy machine, except the candy was sticky plastic. It was impossible to get it all off of you. I found little bits of plastic in my clothes and car a year after I quit that $#itty job!! On top of that, it was 12 hour shifts too, for about $8.00 an hour!!

I worked on an assembly line 12 hours a day standing on my feet, making office furniture. I got the job through a temporary agency.

I once made trailers that hook up to a pick-up truck.

I'm a real girly-girl but we needed money for a Christmas tree and decorations.....so I did it for a week.

Worse job I've ever had....I feel sorry for whoever bought those trailers I helped build....LOL
