The worst thing that ever happened to me on the 4th of July was getting stuck in a traffic jam in St Louis on the 3rd of July.
It remains the single worst traffic jam that I have been in and the year was 1981.
Everybody from everywhere was in St Louis for the 4th and I found it out the hard way.
It took me 3 hours to go 3 blocks or that is how it seemed.
BTW:I have had firecrackers go off in my hand too.It is something that is bound to happen if you light enough of them.

I went to jail the day before the 4th of july over somebody else's stupidity, that didn't even get hauled in even though they were the reason the police showed up. That 4th s**ked to say the least.

The best thing, we got married...the worst thing..on the way to the airport for our honeymoon we were hit by a drunk driver in our limo. His car basically blew up, he was hurt pretty bad...we were just shook up. The limo had to get towed, but we still made it to the airport...Real fun stuff...not the best memory but makes a great story.

a couple of years ago i lost my wallet, then a few hours later i had a car crash, then that night my gold fish died! all on the 4th of July 2004.

I learned of my brother's passing on that unfortunate day some years back. But I have learned to cope with it.

my dad and my uncle got into a huge fist fight, and my dad got arrested. yup, that was a pretty bad 4th of july.

I came home to realize someone had tried to break into my apartment. Didn't succeed, though... I think my cat scared him off! :)
