Is nVidia better or ATI? So what is the real deal here?

Thats the same thing as Ford or Chevy.
ATI is going down in price (do to marketing and AMD will be eliminating ATI in a few years) and its a excellent choice for a budget gamer with excellent performance.
Nvidia is kinda stable on prices and is excellent on performance.

For benchmark purposes Nvidia will sort of win the battle but when you crack the Anti Aliasing up and Vsync ATI will blow Nvidia out of the water during gameplay.

I use a Nvidia 7900GS and a ATI X1950Pro. ATI blows the 7900 away...by 400 3DMARK06 points and 15-20more FPS in CSS.

Is vanilla ice cream better than strawberry. Absolutely not!!! ATI and Nvidia are matters of preference and compatability. The individual needs and cost factor will determined ones preference. However, the integrity of the both brands are sound and unimpeachable.

enjoy your computer.

Nvidia has less issues with most games than ATI. And their website has downloads with the latest drivers.

To me it's a preference thing. I personally like nVidia. They both pretty much cost the same and usually have the same specs but with different architecture. But they are the best 2 out there.
