Both trucks are made by General Motors and many parts are interchangeable. Chilton's, Motor Age and Haynes group them together in their repair manuals. I have owned a Chevy (1972) and I currently have a 1998 GMC. The GMC just 'feels' more solidly built. The list of standard features on a GMC has several items that are either optional or not available on the Chevy. The biggest difference I can see is the trim and options packages available at the dealership. But since I bought both trucks used, I didn't have to worry about that.

There is no quality difference between Chevy & GMC. Chevy is owned by GM. The best way to pick a vehicle is to drive as many similar vehicles as possible. I also recommend driving some vehicle that are out of your price range. From this experience you can better rate the car you are going to buy.

The main difference is the interior and accessories. For the most part, the vehicles will ride the same.. but GMC is considered more "luxury" and hence will have much higher quality materials as base options. However, Buick is sold in GMC stores and is known for having superior quality.

They are pretty much the same. A GMC is an upscale
Chevy. It will usually have better suspension and interior features. Otherwise they come down the same line when they are made

GMC makes mostly trucks, it is basically the same as a Chevy, car companies do it all the time, it is to grab different segments of the market. Is the same as Ford/Mercury, Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infinity and many others.

they are almost identical vehicles, except for the trim package that they come with they are, their made by the same company, and the gmc is supposed to be the heavier version of the trucks, but truthfully there is no difference in them at all, other than what you can see,and that's very little, all the parts on them also inter-change,good luck hope this helps.
