A necklace my grandfather gave me just before he died, and all my family pictures and a few other family items.
If you had someone I will always cherish, that would be my son.

The memory of a young man I loved and let get away; because I was too young and dumb to appreciate him. He was so gorgeous and sweet. I was self centered and needy. SIGH.....

A moment in time.

I bought 4th row tickets to see Elton John for $350. The next day I won front row tickets from a radio station with press passes to the pre-show. I dressed in sequins and wore a hat with glitter and dark red glasses. I brougth two dozen gladiolias for Elton and when I went into the party room, people thought I was him.

We all laughed and had drinks and just before the show, we were escorted to the front row. I still had my flowers and after Elton sang "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", I went to the stage to give them to him with the 12 feet of ribbons attached to them.

A very large man grabbed me by the waist and started to pull me away from the stage. Elton was on the right of the stage but turned to the center and saw me. How could he not with as much glitter as he had? I told the guard, "I'm not going to jump the stage, but he continued to pull me away. Elton saw this and said, "Let that man go" and allowed me to the stage.

I gave Elton the flowers and a card and a tape I had made of his songs and mine. He shook my hand and I could only say, "I love you Elton" as I screemed since the crowd went nuts. He took the flowers and ripped off the ribbons and strew all of the flowers over his piano. He continuted with his concert.

When the show was over, he came to where I was sitting and motioned for me to come back to the stage and shook my hand again. He did not touch anyone else during that concert and later wrote me (I had given him my address in my card) with an autographed photo that said, [my name] and thank you for the flowers.

When I was going to my car (I had a driver), people were saying, "that's the guy who gave Elton the flowers; that's him". People came to me in the parking lot and wanted to touch me because Elton had touched me. It was a night to remember.

There was a concert in Greesboro, N.C where I was't so close but I still brougt flowers for him. I relyed on the audience to forward them and they made it somehow to the stage as they were passed by each person to the stage; something I had always tried to do myself on every one of my 22 concerts I have seen him.

A couple of years later I was visiting Atlanta and I met with a person who said he worked for Elton in his Atlanta Peachtree Towers in a bar. I told him the story and he asked if I wanted to see Elton's penthouse. He said he "kept his house clean". Of course I said, sure!

I did not believe this guy even knew or surely did not think he was telling me the truth. I asked if Elton would mind, and he said, "Elton already knows who you are". He said, you are the one who gave him your tape and also gave him flowers in Raliegh, N.C. and in Greensboro, Atlanta, and your flowers were strown on his piano aren't you? I said yes, but how did you know that?. He said, "because Elton remembered your red glasses, rhinestone hat and your gold belt.

I was shocked to say the least. So up to the penthouse I went and though Elton was not there, there was a vase with 2 dozen gladiolias with a hand written note that said, "I'll see you at the next show Jon".
