Sometimes I am sad and sometimes I am feeling good. When I feel good I really like to help people anywhere and I like answering Q here; But when I feel sad or lost, I ask questions. I really feel happy and really love getting the symphathy/emphaty answers and I can cry, but I choose best answer for the one that make me laugh/grin and shake my head. What about you, and do you know why?

Words that start out sympathetic, only to be turned around into a joke which COMPLETELY destroys the down, sullen atmosphere.

Thanks for knowing just how to cheer me up, Dad! :)

There are many kinds of "Sad",, and different ways to deal with them. There is that saying " People Need People" and especially the kind of people who have the nack to recognize the need for the individual. Laughter is a great medicine, and I always feel better, when some one can turned my sadness in to a healthy laugh.
I love all kinds of music, and the romantic songs often bring back memories of my departed hubby and son, and often they well up the eyes, but I also enjoy them and can laugh at some of them. So, remember the happy music along with the sad..and you will do " ok fine."

It depends on why I'm feeling down. If it's just the PMS blues I'll want to laugh. But if it's something big like somebody close to me died I won't want to joke about it at all unless it's to share a funny memory of the person at a memorial service or something.

No. I'm a failure in that department. I tried to be sad once & I failed. I guess I've haven't found anything to get sad about.

I know people who love being sad though. Some of them are real misery guts'. Even when I hear their story I can't see what the're on about.

If I'm just feeling down, I much prefer a good joke but there are times (such as when my parents died) that a sympathetic word and a hug is far more appropriate.

jokes don't help 4 me. they only remind me that the person telling the jokes don't understand and joking is the only way they can think to help me. the best for me is to go into a meditative state and think about it.

I like hugs...and kisses too. I like jokes too or not necessarily
a joke just a funny remark.

Not SYmpathy. I get pissed when others feel sorry for me. Empathy is nice though.
