I am tired of using my mom's laptop and i am sure that she is tired of it, too. I mainly want a laptop that i can play my music (iTunes) and play games (like Sims2 and stuff like that). This is our only computer for the house (it is actually her schools computer...) and i really want one for my own and for just my stuff!!! i get $15 a week for my allowance but i already have some of the money that i need.

so, how can i convince her to let me buy me my own laptop? and she is very hard to get through. so i can't tell her that she is my favorite (plus she is my only parent here...my dad is away..). PLEASE HELP ME!!! thanks

Get a job and use the money that you earn to buy one.

Cheap laptops aren't the greatest with games mainly because of their video hardware, you may want to strive for a desktop. Additionally, desktop computers are at the $500 range which is a good deal.

Well try telling her is for school and study purposes if that don't tell her u 'll put half the money and that u deserve one. or try talking about it all the time in random conversations

About a year of saving your allowance to get to eBay to buy an obsolete but works adequately laptop.

Is that your mom's something that her school lends out to employees? Or you mean she's still in college and this her needs?

Settle for a desktop, that's easier to get to her, tell her you need to install and experiment Linux on it and since you are new in this, you likely "f" up the Windows installed on it.

By acting responsible. I would start off asking for a desktop, then when you've proven you can handle responsibility, she may let you get a notebook.
