ac wont work ,its amana central unit any ideas ((((HELP))))!!!?

Question

It just wont kick on at all the fan starts up in the furnace ,but it wont turn on ,,not even a sound or clicking n,,,nothing

furnace fan turns on ,but ac unit fan wont sorry if this is unclear ,,i also have mail to send questions

i checked the breaker box :)

since you said the inside fan is running then that only leaves the outside unit ..possible problems are 1 broke thermostat wire...or bad thermostat..2 bad contactor...3 no power on outside unit,outside unit has a seperate breaker from the inside unit , should be able to hear contactor buzzing if this is the problem,check this while inside fan is running...4 high pressure or low pressure switch is keeping unit shutdown...nearly all units have these...if it has a high pressure switch it should have a red reset button somewhere around where the freon lines come out of unit if it doesnt it will reset automatically when unit shuts down and the pressure equalizies inside the system...low pressure switch is not resetable and would only be knocked if unit had started not cooling good recently before unit would not come on at all...

My Amana outdoor unit got hot and the fan would not turn. I turned it off at the pull apart switch on the outside wall I then sprayed the whole unit inside and out with the hose. That cooled it considerably. I then put the switch back in(Turned it on) The compressor started but no fan. I then kinda started the fan with the spray from the hose. It then kept going on it's own. It worked for the rest of the night. The service people replaced the fan the next day. It'sbeen working ever since.

Check the circuit breaker or fuses to the outdoor unit. If they are good, a safety lockout is keeping the outdoor unit from operating. Contact your service company and have them inspect the unit.

Sounds like your compressor is IP'd,if you can touch the condenser and its hot ,disconnect the power supply and put a hose on the compressor to cool it down .If this doesn't fix the problem I think you may have to have the unit recharged

it shows power at plug but all touch controls have no power

Only thing you could do is check the electical breaker.
