That I'll drop a knife and kill my dog. I know, I'm a loon but I have had this phobia since I was a kid. With all my dogs. You know how dogs like to beg in the kitchen, and I'm busy preparing meals then it hits me. Do Not Drop a Knife. It's nonsense.

I am paranoid that I have left one of my children behind somewhere, or one of their little friends behind, or a neighbor's child, etc.
This impulse to check the back *just to be sure* comes over me, several times a week, as we're leaving the library or the pool or the store, and I'll find myself just dreading to look in the rear view mirror, just in case it's really true that THIS TIME I finally did it. This time I really HAVE left a child behind. There is a sobbing child back at the grocery store with a bunch of concerned adults around her, saying "Can you imagine? What mother in her right mind...? How could she just drive off? and forget her own child? " etc.
I am not generally a very anxious or worried person, but this one came instantly to mind as I read your question. It's so crazy, but I think it's my worst fear.

When my hubby works late, or someone is late in general,
I think they are dead on the side of the road & hold myself back from calling the ER.
I am paranoid that when my preschooler goes to school in August, that I will never see him again- like each day he attends.
I know it sounds morbid, but something happens to women's brains when they become a mother. Paranoia sets in.
We make up stuff to be worried about.

I check my zipper when I think no one's looking
I worry that I'll leave something on in my apartment and the place will burn down
I worry that I'll forget to lock the door when I leave and someone will come and take all my stuff

I make sure all doors are locked because I'm afraid someone will break in at any second.

Some times I think people are talking about me but I never react to it. Also use to think every one was out to get me.
