So many of these liberals on here fail to understand that universal health care is NOT FREE! Our taxes will f*cking skyrocket, wait times to see a doctor will be enormous, causing some people to die waiting for treatment, the government will decide if covering your illnesses will be justifiable, so they can turn you down for any reason if they want, so no one is guaranteed health care under socialized medicine, doctors will be highly under paid for a very stressful career that takes shitloads of patience, intelligence, skill, and about 12 years of college and all the loans that come with it. Who the hell is gonna want that profession? Socialized medicine is going to turn away very skillful doctors and surgeons to other professions, leaving us with substandard doctors and surgeons! Not to mention, the huge advances in treatments, technologies, procedures and medicines will suffer as well, since things run by the government become stagnant without the need for competition in a market driven field! Competition in the free market between private companies is what makes advances so abundant in a given field! Not gonna happen under government bureaucratic run medicine!
