I am certain that rookie Greg Olsen the offensive player has NOTHING to do with Briggs signing again.

Rookies normally will get signed for the amount of money they would get compared with other rookies. It's when you've played a lot and shown you have major skills that salaries change.

Briggs led the team in tackles in 2006 and isn't happy with the way they haven't signed him already to a long-term deal. Under usual circumstances you lock up your best tacklers, but the Bears are strapped for cash. Stay tuned.

It wont help them resign lance briggs because he's looking for alot more money then their willing to give him. Im willing to bet its similar to the situation the patriots are going through with asante samuel. For samuel right now its not about winning, its about getting paid what he feels hes worth. The problem is that the organization does believe hes worth the asking price. Unless some dramatic change happens in either sides opinion then the player will probably be either cut losses or traded to a team willing to give them the money theyre asking for
