Mike Schmidt.
Defensively Brooks Robinson was better, but Schmidt still won 10 Gold Gloves plus 8 HR titles.

i am a Baltimore fan and as much as it pains me to say this. But, Michael Jack Schmidt is the BEST third Baseman not only of his generation but of any generation, Brooks was a master with the leather but Brooks could not even hold a candle to Schmidt's batting stats.

I'm a Dodger fan, but the best I ever saw was Craig Nettles.
Old timers will probably say Brooks Robinson.
At the plate, give me Mike Schmidt. Not bad with the glove either.

Mike Schmidt.
This is one of those "greatest" questions that doesn't really need debate. Michael Jack is THE third baseman. Others can duke it out for second-best.
Though if ARod keeps playing 3B, we might have a good debate some years from now.
