ok. my friend is reparing a1989 honda accord that he wrek. He needing to know how to remove the streering rack. He need a step by step or some weres to look at a diagram. he called auto part store they tell him I dont know. how can this be done?

He needs to buy a haynes or chiltons manual from the parts store and follow the instructions.

There's not a whole lot to it.
Many you have to remove the rear engine "H frame" bolts that holds the motor as well as the tranny and steering rack in place. This allows the whole frame, engine and all, to move down a few inches in the rear so you can disconnect the ps fluid lines and bolts and then pull the tie rod joints.or ends off.
You have to support the motor from the bottom with a hydraulic jack or from the top with a stabilizer bar or an engine puller.
The car will need a wheel alignment after you get a new rack on it.

There's a screw in the center of the steering wheel. unscrew it and then pull the steering wheel off. This worked for me but there a
lot of little springs inside there. My advice take it to a mechanic.

his best bet on doing this one would be to get a good Haynes repair manual it will give him all the details he will need to do this with,that's about the cheapest and best way for him on this one.good luck with it.
