I have some old coins and were wondering what their approximate value is. Here they are:

A 1922 one dollar piece
A 1943 half dollar piece
A 1964 half dollar piece

If anyone could estimate the prices of these coins I would be most grateful. Thanks!

The 1922 is a second-year-of-issue Peace dollar and would retail for $10 to $12 in general circulated condition (Fine for you collectors). The 1943 Walking Liberty half would retail for about $6 in the same grade. The Kennedy half is 90% silver and circulated examples are only worth 6 or 7 times face value because of the silver content. The circulated pieces have little collector value because so many were saved as a memento of Kennedy's assination.

Remember a dealer is going to offer you less because he needs to make a profit when he sells the coin to a collector.

The 1922 Peace dollar is worth $10.50 to $12.50 in circulated grades very good through almost uncirculated. the 1943 half is worth $5 through $6 in grades good to extra fine. As was said by someone else here the Kennedy 1/2 is 90% silver and only has value beyond it's silver content if in high uncirculated grades. Other than that, it is worth 7 to 8 times face to a dealer. The above values are about what a dealer would pay. Hope this helps. The 1943 1/2 has more value as a momento of World War II then anything else. Not all pieces of history have a high monitary value.

These coins are not valuable. In addition, one cannot tell the value of the coins simply by listing their description. You have to actually see them to see what condition they fall into.
The "World Coin Book" will give you a good idea about the range of the value of the coin. Check it out at the library.
The 1922 one dollar piece is probably a silver eagle or a Morgan. Chances are that piece may be worth $20.00 plus or minus. It's all about the condition of the coin.
The 1943 is probably a Franklin and it could be worth from $5.00 to $34.00.
The 1964 half is probably a Kennedy and unless it is silver, it is worth 50 cents.
Now days, people are incorporating coins into jewelry because it has more value when sold in that fashion.

A reputable coin dealer will give you $9 for the 1922 Morgan Dollar, and $3.50 each for the 1943 Walking Liberty half dollar and the 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar. Shady dealers pay less.

ACTUALLY THEY R VALUABLE BECAUSE EVERYONE DOESN'T HAVE A PIECE OF HISTORY.

IF U WANT 2 BRING THEM TO A PAWN SHOP. THEY WOULD RANGE ABOUT $10-100. BUT IT IS DIFFERENT IN OTHER PLACES.
