How do you think they look now?

The main difference is they didn't have help from the left wing media.

Yes, that's because many Americans supported Germany during the early days of WWII. Even famous American figures such as Henry Ford, Sears and Roebuck supported Hitler.

Many Americans admired the ideology of the Nazis that wanted to create a race of super humans etc.

Not to mention that Germany was the leading scientific nation at the time.

If you read some old information, German prisoners shipped to the US were glorified and admired as they were marched through American towns to their prisons. It was almost poetic how women would describe the German soldiers with their blond hair and blue eyes etc.

Remember, Hitler declared war on the United States. That's what changed the public sentiment. Also, when the concentration camps were liberated and fotos of the crimes committed there were published, many people stopped admiring the Germans.

What are you afraid of? Is the constitution something that you just check at the door in times of trouble?

Believe it or not, our brave soldiers die for the right to dissent. You don't like it when radical lefties want to shut up Rush and Hannity. But you have no problem with trying to shut up people who disagree with you.

there has been an anti-war movement fro every war- including the one we are celebrating in 1776.

america, the land of dissent
(I mean this in a positive way. other countries don't allow their citizens to disagree, we do)

Yep. And it you'll note, the fairy tales those protestors told the American public like "And after we left Europe and Asia Hitler and Hirohito quit fighting and we all lived happily ever after" have been pulled out of storage and just replaced the names with "Jihadists" and "Usama".

Nor did they have so much power in the government as they do today. by the way, who is the communist party backing? In 2004 they opening backed Kerry. Who is their choice this time around?

yes and they were quickly shouted down and patriotism took over. the left or commies party of america was arrested in vast droves ending this.
