Putting a simple hat on can keep your real identity secret?

People can come alive after 15 years.

A mad dash to the airport saves anything.

Everyone should sleep with everyone.

Your father may not be your real father.

Your mother may not be your real mother.

It's all about exaggerating your emotions before blackout.

Miracles happen to anyone

Anything can be justified by love, which really is wanting to have sex with that man//woman

blah blah.

Other than some literary techiniques, some vague philosophical questions about identity and love etc. What can we learn from Soap Operas?

Prison time is not really prison as people come and go and have "special" visits.

Hospitals make zillions of mistakes like switching babies, screwing up labs, anyone can get into hospial computers and change the results of tests, psych wards let people come and go,

Everyone can be bought, and no one will know or think its odd

Never try to have a calm wedding, something with always happen at the wedding.

That's just a few things I've learned besides the ones stated.

Get a DNA test from everyone you want to have sex with - they could be your mother, father, sibling.

Time is very flexible - a full term pregnancy could be 5 months or a year and a half. Also, don't worry about putting your life on hold - it'll be the same storyline in 3 years.

Soap Operas weren't meant to be educational television or they would be played on the Discovery Channel. They are just interesting. I personally watch them because I don't have enough drama in my own life. It is just neat to see them live like that, and reality is so boring.

The best thing to learn from soap operas is to get out and do something useful. Go work in the garden, go play tennis or even bridge, or read a book, go for a swim, go shopping...don't waste your life sitting on your azz getting fat watching pointless inane drivel, you get only one life, don't waste it sitting in front of a TV.

It teaches us that no matter how bad we think our life is, if you have enough money you can find other mischievous things to do to fill up your time to make your life a constant world of stress. They never think of doing normal things like working (other than light manual labor) or cooking or cleaning. They have more time and money to come up with things that people like us would never DREAM about doing.

Soap Operas teach us that we need to live in reality.
Sometimes they go overboard with stupid story lines.
BUT we know that it is not real!
