I plan to get a crib divider and have them share a crib for the first few months, but how long before they need to be in seperate cribs?

Please don't answer if you are just as clueless as I am.

They should be fine until they start to roll over. That's about the time you want the second crib because they start interfering with each other's sleep. Rolling on top of each other is basically a non-problem, but one twin wakes up the other and then you have your troubles.

Now that said, some twins do not share a crib well because they have majorly different sleep cycles. Others say that they should never share a crib because they become dependent on each other. I think both of these statements are true, but all of them apply to different families.

I have twins and I had two cribs but my kids had to stay together so I kept them together I kept one at the top and one at the bottom until they were like 7 months, but believe me as they get older they always sneak in each others room.

Until they don't fit together anymore or don't sleep well together... there's no 'set' age... just let them let you know when it's been long enough... why a crib divider? Twins like and need to be together, so let them...

i put my twins in the same bassinet (pack and play) for the first 3 months, then i had to put them in their own cribs. i wanted them to share a crib but it just wasn't big enough.

honestly, there are reports that say they never should share a crib, but I'd say up until they can roll over they should be fine.

I would separate them as soon as thier feet start to touch the divider. you wouldnt want thier feet/legs to not develope properly. If you are divding it long ways, as soon as possible as not having enough room could cause sids.

until they are rolling over. once they can roll over they are a hazard to each other, possibly rolling on top of one an other and blocking breathing.

once they start moving around so need to seperate them because they can hurt eachother.
