What is it that makes them think they are so great?

they actually have low self-esteem so they pretend to be over-confident in order to mask their faults.

Very little self esteem. People who are sure of themselves and boost self confidence does not have to flaunt a ego. People with huge egos are trying to prove more to themselves than to others.

I think it's a false big ego...think it has to do alot with low self confidence...

because some people want to know that they have a big place in this world. they give themselves a title so everyone including themselves know it.

they actually have a low self esteem, or just a**holes,,,best thing to do is to just ignore people like that, i have a friend who thinks shes Gods gift,,,& to be honest everyone i have showed her pic to thinks shes bony & ugly,,,shes just conceaded i try to ignore it,,,she lives far away so i don't have to deal with it all the time....my suggestion is to brag when they brag lol

That's apparently the only thing they're capable of doing well.

because when they look at other people with their problems... they think that they are better because they dont live with those problems... but they are wrong cuz they have other problems that they live with that the other person doesnt

Because they're missing other stuff up there and they have to fill there head with something so it doesn't collapse
