The Recycles Phones that you normally see at retail stores asking for is basically given to needed charities for emergency cases (such as battered shelters for women and other possible non profit organizations). The recycles phones are not thrown away but are given to good usage.

This doesn't make any sense at all. Why would you want to do that? They will still make you sign a contract to get service, you might as well get a new phone.

Or did yours break and you aren't eligible for an upgrade? You can buy used phones on ebay. It'll have to be unlocked though so it'll accept your SIM card.

FYI, there is no such thing as Cingular anymore, it's AT&T now.
