ROFLMFAO!!!!! thats is the dumbest thing ive seen in years! I dont think it was done to accomodate a heavier rider, this fool just thought it would be cool.personally i think he just ruined all the performance that pig may have had to begin with.I know im gonna catch hell from all you busa riders, but the fact is,it is a heavey pig,its out dated and its only great in a straight line.
The ignorant or wanna be's tend to buy the busa because they feel the 1300 cc motor is tops...its not! i own 2 bikes,05 gixxer 750 and the new 07 gixxer 1000,which has stomped several busa's.its got more power, and its over a hundred pounds lighter.
Busa owners tend to be found in the getto or in some squids garage blinged out with heavier chrome pieces.which cracks me up to no end,the more bling they add on the more weight they added on,BUT with the more bling they think they are faster than before..just like saying racing strips on a car makes it go faster..lmao...
This was one mans idea of cool,i cant imagine why anyone would do that to begin with, its dumb.

So it is not a trike where the rear wheels are side by side? that seems pretty pointless since under acceleration the weight would mostly shift to the rear, rear tire. sounds liek somethign the makers of Pimp my hooptie would think was cool.
Next time post a link to your mutant motorcycle findings.
Edit: thanks for the link. After seeing this all I can say is why?
I knwo somebody has already said this is a bad answer but after seeing this bastard bike I stand my ground. You have added an entire full sized wheel. increased the rotating, unspring weight of the bike by atleast 50% and because the rear tires is mounted solidly, anytime you unweight the front end under acceleration the driven rear wheel has its contact patch with the ground lessened greatly increasing the chances of wheel spin(but since the tire with all the traction has no power goign to it I guess you wont loos controll either though. What about if you have to go over a pot hole. if the midle (driven tire) is over the hole you will actualy have to push the damn bike untill it comes back into contact with the ground.
Over all should have just put a 9 or hell even a 12" over swingarm on it and had a less.... unique bike.

it looks like a show bike. good paint and lots of chrome but the only thing i can think of besides look at my freak bike is to get a better holeshot. a bike that powerful will lose it's sh!t if you get brave on the throttle. the back wheel might act like a wheelie bar, the centrifigul force of the other wheel might helf to keep it glued to the road at take off too. i'm not an engineer and i dont claim to know what's going on with it but these are just my theories. P.S i'm aware that this extra wheel robs it of its power to weight ratio.

I've seen this thing before. I don't like it personally but it is like all those custom bike scene things - pretty pointless but they do them because they can and I grudgingly admire them for doing what the heck they want and some nice engineering work goes into them.
That's the beauty of biking - you don't have to justify it to anyone!

my guess is that is some idiots idea of "cool" . he probably doesn't wear a helmet and just got the bike to look cool. I think that is freaking stupid ya lets add all this unsprung weight and then dip it in chrome, I know why doesn't he just go to auto zone and put a big wing on the back too.

The only thing that I can think of that would make sense, would be, that it's a version of a wheelie bar...to keep the front end down during hard acceleration.

It works similar to a wheelie bar, to keep the front end down under acceleration.
The link works for me. Nice bike but rather odd looking.

just a fancy wheelie bar, it has no suspensionto it nor does the chain go to it, just for drag racing and looking good at the same time
